There are literally hundreds of free business plan templates available online. Entire books written about the how and should of designing a plan for your enterprise. Sadly, it's rare that writing and building one doesn't feel totally intimidating. Not to mention how often many entrepreneurs fail to realize a business plan is a living document that needs to be updated as plans...well...do what plans do: change. Here's a great article from Entrepreneur about the challenges in having the plan reflect reality.
