bio
Since a young age, I have always loved learning and being creative. As such, I quickly became passionate about science, technology and fine arts. My love for science and technology lead me to develop an adoration for planes. While on the creative side, I learnt to play three musical instruments, and taught myself to make wire dolls, that I sell. My initial love for learning brought me to discover the thrill of flying and performing aerobatics, as well as my current area of interest, rocketry. The Space Challenge offers an incredible experience of working with a passionate team of people, who are eager to push the boundaries and solve complex issues in an ever-changing environment. As a woman, I often forget that I am part of a minority. I find that the team here at Concordia is very accepting of everyone regardless of age, gender or color, on the basis that they are willing to learn and give their all to the project. Throughout the course of this challenge, I hope to gain a better understanding of what career in the aerospace industry I wish to pursue. Through the journey of me getting to where I am now, there has definitely been a lot to overcome. However, I have never been alone in facing anything. My family, friends and mentors have always supported me when I needed it most. They have taught me to view obstacles as challenges that provide me with opportunities to both learn and improve myself. In recent years, I am greatly inspired by Vicky Benzing, a woman who completed her PHD in chemistry and who helped develop some of the first touch screen technology before retiring and becoming the best aerobatic Stearman pilot performing at airshows today. Her story reminds me that I can accomplish great things in whatever domain I am in, as long as I set my mind to it and remain determined, regardless of what barriers I may face.
