bio
Cody is a filmmaker and freelance artist based in Boise, Idaho. He has been producing visual content since he first picked up a camera in middle school, ranging from short films and music videos to commercial projects and experimental media. He recently screened three films at the 2016 Sun Valley Film Festival, one of which was “Smoke”, a short lm he adapted from acclaimed author Alan Heathcock’s story of the same name. Cody wrote, produced, directed and edited the lm, and successfully raised over $20,000 on Kickstarter to ensure its production. As a working Idaho artist for more than 7 years, Cody has received grants from the Idaho Film Office and Idaho Commission on the Arts. In 2015 he served as the first artist in residence of the Silver Creek Writers residency in Sun Valley, Idaho. His films have screened at the Sun Valley Film Festival, Treefort Film Fort, and Death Rattle Writers Festival. His short fiction has been featured in the Boise Weekly, and has twice been a winner of BW’s Fiction 101 contest. In 2013 Cody graduated from Boise State University with a BA in Business Administration and Communications, a minor in Music and a certificate in Cinema & Digital Media Studies. He currently resides in the North End of Boise, and hopes to continue telling powerful stories as long as humanly possible.
