bio
Hello! I'm Marcy, a dedicated sustainability professional with a passion for creating environmentally just communities that are climate-resilient and happier places to live and work. As an energetic and engaged advocate, you'll find me campaigning for innovative construction techniques and robust building performance standards that will transform our housing stock into homes that are more affordable, energy efficient, comfortable, healthier, and less expensive to operate. Better for humans... better for the planet. I hold BPI Building Analyst and Envelope Professional certifications in addition to being a National Association of Realtors Green Designee and Earth Advantage Broker. I founded Green Building Specialists, a home performance assessment company, as an extension of my work as a Green Realtor. My brand, Hudson Valley Green Homes at Keller Williams Realty, focuses on buyers and sellers who are interested in more sustainable housing options. I serve as the Acting Executive Director and as a Board member for Mid-Hudson Energy Transition (MHET), a non-profit Community Choice Aggregate (CCA) organization administering renewable energy programs for local municipalities with an emphasis on city-wide decarbonization and electrification. In addition, I'm a Climate Reality Leader, organizer of Repair Café Pine Bush, and a member of the Building Performance Association (BPA) and the Green Homes Institute (GHI). When asked about my background, I often joke that I've led a bit of a 007 life. I've been a professional ballet dancer, a FAA-certified pilot and airplane owner, FAA aircraft dispatcher, senior customer experience manager for a major retailer, dance instructor, and an owner / operator of a drone photography service. It's a little bit of everything.
