WHAT DOES IT DO?
Our revolutionary idea is the addition of GRAPH data support to the Smart M.App. Why? Traditional geospatial data structure is capable of handling homogenous types of information. It implies that every occurrence of the object has the same set of attributes and is linked to the same set of other objects. This is because of limitations of used RELATIONAL data model. In real life objects have different properties and are related to different sets of objects. E.g. in criminology it’s barely possible to find a uniform data model to describe knowledge related to crimes and web of associations. GRAPH data model is a perfect tool to handle information of this kind. We propose to add to Smart M.App capability of handling GRAPH data where nodes represent facts and links represent their associations. By “fact” we mean: event, person, evidence etc. by “link” we mean “is victim of”, “is evidence in”, “is target of” etc. Facts are presented as icons, links as labeled arrows connecting facts.
HOW DOES YOUR SMART M.APP SOLVE WORLD PROBLEMS?
Investigators across the globe are facing the same challenge of combining gathered information into one meaningful picture allowing them to get to the root of the crime. Some of them use sophisticated computer software, some paper notes but the goal is the same: join seemingly distant facts, find hidden connections or understand complex sequences of events. In result to determine whether a crime has been committed, to identify suspects and to recover stolen property where possible. Complexity of this task is as enormous as the complexity of the real world.
OUR BREAKTHROUGH CONCEPT COMBINES THE IDEA OF THE SO-CALLED “MIND-MAP”, WHICH HELPS TO RECORD AND ANALYZE FACTS STRUCTURE, AND A CLASSIC MAP WHICH HELPS TO SEE THEIR SPATIAL RELATIONS.
We want to deliver a unique app based on the GRAPH DATABASE, combining analytical capabilities of professional investigation software with unbeatable flexibility of the sticky-notes. Functionality of the app will include: DISPLAY OF A GRAPH (MIND-MAP) SUPERIMPOSED ON A MAP, recording new facts and links, searching for shortest paths between facts (e.g. what two criminals have in common) other graph analysis.
Using geographic content as a pivot of the solution the app will give a better situational picture and will introduce new knowledge of spatial relations of disparate facts. User editable data model will allow him to capture facts types never recorded or ever configured before. GRAPH reasoning engines beneath database will allow the utilization of this free-hand introduced data in further powerful GRAPH analysis.
Unlike existing software our app will be lightweight, will maximize utilization of spatial content and will provide the user with a flexible yet analytically powerful data model.
Thanks to the reasonable price, no preconfiguration and a steep learning curve we want to make our app available for law-enforcement services in every corner of the world TO IMPROVE THE CRIME DETECTION RATE AS WELL CITIZEN SAFETY.
