WHAT IS IT?
Pixel Farm is a Smart M.App for precision agriculture (PA). PA uses various technologies to observe, measure and respond to within-paddock spatial data. Crop growth is rarely consistent across a paddock, variability in crop growth can be measured and managed using geo-referenced data and functionalities. Pixel Farm Smart M.App will help optimize the use of the resources used to grow food - seed, fertiliser, water, fuel and herbicide. Pixel Farm will minimize detrimental effects on the wider environment linked to nutrient runoff, erosion and salinity.
WHAT DOES IT DO?
The goal of Pixel Farm is to demonstrate that there is commercial value in data capture and analysis. Pixel Farm offers a central methodological framework called 'yield gap analysis' whereby users are able to set and monitor productivity benchmarks at within-paddock scales. The framework is delivered in three modules: 1) history and planning, 2) growing season and harvest, and 3) post-harvest analysis. Each module is supported by specific and defined data analytics (the Smart M.App functions).
Unique to Pixel Farm is the warehousing of spatial and decision data within a Bayesian Inference and Machine Learning mathematical model, which will enhance the statistical power of prediction models.
