How Have We Helped You?: The Redirect Health Raising the Bar on Healthcare Challenge

BY MATT WILLIAMS | 2 min read

For individuals, families, and employers navigating through the health care system can be a costly, time-consuming and frustrating process. This is why Redirect Health was founded in 2012: to provide individuals and businesses with affordable healthcare options that comply with the Affordable Care Act, reduce administrative costs, and enhance individual healthcare experiences.

Now, after three years in operation, Redirect Health would like to hear from those who have used their services in the past, in order to learn how they have helped to make a difference in people's lives. To this end, they have launched the Raising the Bar on Healthcare Challenge. With a prize of $1000, Redirect Health is seeking video testimonials of stories where their services have helped save people time, money, and eliminated administrative waste.

In addition to wanting to hear how and where they have helped people, Redirect Health is launching this challenge in the hopes of promoting their particular brand of services to the public. Known as CareLogistics, these services combine online help with human agents and a downloadable app called My Direct Health to help people navigate the rigmarole of pricing, hospital visits, prescriptions, doctor's appointments, and post-treatment options.

Dr. David Berg, the co-founder of Direct Health, explained the process to HeroX via email. "The My Redirect Health app gives members 24/7 access, in English and Spanish, to their healthcare team," he said. "With the members medical records in front of them, Redirect Health’s CareLogistics™ Specialists and Primary Care Providers are able to guide them to the best care and the best value according to their real-time needs."

In addition, their care options also offer users a wide range of benefits that include no deductibles, no co-pays for office visits, unlimited primary care (as well as unlimited physical care, injury care and rehabilitation), lab visits, x-rays, and immunizations. They also send members coupons to save on medications and offer free samples where and when they are available.

Rather than going through the costly process of advertising these services, Redirect Health is crowdsourcing a solution whereby actual users are being called upon to share their stories of how they have benefitted from their services. These testimonials are to be about a specific experience involving Redirect Health and explain how they helped make the process of getting medical care cheaper and easier.

Testimonials are to be between 30 seconds and 3 minutes, and can be recorded using a smartphone, tablet, laptop, etc. All videos are to be uploaded to YouTube and tagged with "Redirect Health" and "Raising the Bar on Healthcare". Once it is available online, the link to the video is to be shared with friends, family, and coworkers via email, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google+, and any other social media.

Lastly, those participating in this competition are to include a link to their video on the bottom of the Challenge page. The competition is limited to those who are active members of Redirect Health, and all video submissions must be made before October 15th, 2015 at 12:00 pm MST. Judging will begin on October 16th, 2015, and a winner will be selected from the top five most viewed videos.

Are you an active Redirect Health member who has an experience to share? Then head on over to the Raising the Bar on Health Care challenge page and register to win the $1000 prize!
