introduction
title
Democratize the solar manufacturing supply chain
short description
Manufacture solar cells and modules anywhere and everywhere through quick and easy access to supply chain components or alternatives.
Eligibility
Full Description
The supply chain for solar manufacturing (solar cells and modules) tends to be concentrated abroad, outside the U.S.. It is difficult for people wanting to manufacture solar components and systems to gain access to the supply chain and thus creates barriers to entry. To counteract this, solar manufacturing needs to be more accessible, with the supply chain democratized. Finding alternatives to supply chain (particularly for module assembly) may provide opportunity to create concentrations or clusters of supply chain locally.
