One of the things about working on HeroX that really excites me is that we're legitimately trying to create a global team to build this global platform. We have no central office and everyone on the team checks in daily from across the U.S., Canada, and even Ukraine.
Which is why today I'm totally furious with Russia. Alex, our incredibly talented and hard-working lead-developer is Ukrainian. He sent me an email this weekend to let me know Russia is starting a war there. He was concerned that electricity or internet connection could go down, or worse, and wants to make sure we're taking all precautions to protect HeroX. I should've also mentioned in my last product release notes that DESPITE there being major governmental change due to violent revolution in Ukraine last month, Alex still cranked out that whole pile of new features. That's how committed he is. It blows my mind.
HeroX's whole premise is that scarcity is nonsense, that people inherently want to contribute to a better world, and that everyone everywhere has potential to be a hero. So, here's Alex working crazy hours and staying focused despite huge external turmoil to make HeroX a success and help bring about this peaceful revolution of world change through collaborative innovation. And small-minded, backward-thinking Putin has the nerve to start a war with Ukraine and slow Alex down, because Putin wants to control Ukraine's natural gas. He's spending tons of money and wasting lives and talent for control of a fossil fuel that will be completely obsolete in our lifetimes. It makes me stomping angry and deeply sad.
However, right now the good guys are still winning, because despite all that, we still released some new features to the site this week. And on time, too. Here they are:
Take that, Putin.
