Interviewing 30 women (last spring) we asked what is their reason for not buying a smartwatch, or if they owned one, what was their biggest complaint. Responses were 1) Need to recharge too often 2) Unfashionable masculine look 3) Overcomplicated. Our idea is to utilize the high surface area of a woman's cuff bracelet to embed a flexible solar panel, low power e-ink display and energy efficient electronics to create a never-charge experience. If this can be achieved while making the smartwatch fashionable, light weight and simple women can wear technology with confidence. So far we have 3D printed a fake design (attached) to see how it could look.
