Starlight is a concept that connects celebrities, influencers, and icons of the business world to the community the come from. Be it a neighborhood, city, or state, celebrities often give back to those that have had an impact on their life in some way. The aim is to supply solar energy to areas hardest hit by skyrocketing energy bills with an option to use clean renewable energy as a source. This not only allows individuals to lower and even eliminate their electric bill but to also contribute back to the grid and create a community fund to enrich that community from the inside out.
The online magazine Clean Technica states in an article, "Solar energy is cheaper and more efficient than ever. And... superstars are doing everything they can to make sure you know it!" From Jonathan Scott of HGTV fame to Golden Globe Award winner Don Cheadle the unparalleled benefits of solar is taking center stage. Celebrities or "Stars" have long been the conduit of a community being able to have a way of illuminating itself. Artist Akon's project, Akon Lighting Africa is an outstanding example of an influencer constructively and intentionally giving back to his community on a grand scale. It just so happens that Akon's community is Africa.
The concept is already in play. My objective is to harness the power of a "star" and let that power reflect on the community from which they came from.
