Our team's concept for this program is a hybrid Vertical Axis Wind Turbine (VAWT) and Photovoltaics (PV) system that supplies off-grid power to a Deep Winter greenhouse (DWG) to maintain an adequate temperature for fresh produce.
We believe vertical grow towers would best use the space available. Vertical towers have a steady stream of distilled water that is pumped to each unit. Crops can be removed quite easily, and starters can be inserted in their place to continue the growth cycle, thereby continually providing fresh, organic produce to the community.
