In response to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) invitation to Digitizing Utilities Prize, the MathWorks Utilities and Energy Industry group proposes an interdisciplinary package of soft-ware development and data expertise in MATLABĀ®/SimulinkĀ®. Our team has partnered with several utilities and has a wealth of solutions for real-world challenges to expedite digital trans-formation in the energy sector and improve data analysis for utilities.
Relying on our long-time collaboration with large-scale infrastructures and with several utilities in the U.S. and our exposure to different real case studies on data analysis automation using MATLAB/Simulink, we aim to address the Track 2 Challenge proposed by Dominion Energy. A collection of expertise in power systems, signal processing, data science, and data mining is available in the applications we have developed in MATLAB/Simulink to tackle processing, syn-thesizing, visualizing, modeling, alarming, and data mining for synchrophasor big data analysis using both offline and real-time approaches.
The package we propose is a combination of established and innovative applications which provide a clear roadmap that benefits from the support of our expertise in software develop-ment and data science targeting power system applications. Our team is a combination of ex-perts in power systems and software engineering along with data scientists. The methods we offer ensure the reliability and resiliency of the evolving energy system.
