We have pioneered thin film fabrication of all-solid-state batteries (SSBs) using the portfolio of techniques which has underpinned the semiconductor electronics industry for decades. We combine these techniques with advanced, high-aspect-ratio structures to drastically increase the total surface area and thus the total energy. These batteries are inherently safe due to their solid nature. They have energy densities higher than state-of-the-art (SOA) lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) at orders of magnitude higher power.
