Go Further Together!
The Gateway Cities Decarbonization Consortium, comprised of Brockton, Chelsea, and Everett Public Schools, all Justice 40 Communities, have teamed up with Ameresco, a leading sustainability company, the New Commonwealth Racial Equity and Social Justice Fund (NCF) and Franklin Cummings Tech (FCT), to deliver not only great projects but Deliver to the Community. School enrollment in the districts represent well over 28,700 students, of which 91% are Black, Latino, Native American, or Asian. The targeted schools, 23 in total, consist of High Schools, Middle Schools, and Elementary Schools all of which are in various needs of improvement in air quality, energy efficiency and water conservation upgrades. We would be remiss if we did not also note that 93% of the students who attend the targeted schools receive a free and reduced lunch and that all construction will be completed on-time and on-budget from a highly trained and highly skilled Union Workforce. If the Consortium is fortunate enough to win, the funding will be shared equally between Brockton, Chelsea, and Everett Public Schools, along with one sub-recipient, the New Commonwealth Racial Equity and Social Justice Fund (NCF).
