In 2013 Chip Energy broke ground on a Biomass Conversion Facility Depot (BCFD), built from 60 used shipping containers. Because there are more than 1 million of these used containers in the USA alone, this groundbreaking construction method enabled Chip Energy to create the world’s first BCFD at half the cost of traditional construction methods.
