And remember, You do NOT need to win a Stage 1 prize, or to have participated in Stage 1, in order to compete in Stage 2. The competition welcomes innovators at every stage!

With the award of the Stage 1 prizes, we’re excited to announce that Stage 2 – the building stage – is officially open. This is when teams get to test designs, turn their ideas into reality, and build aircraft that will save lives. Looking ahead, Stage 2 will showcase sub-scale or full-scale flyers, with eight teams receiving $40,000 based on their prototypes. Teams will then progress to the GoAERO Fly-Off qualifying period, demonstrating controlled flight capability with full payload, culminating in the Final Fly-Off where an additional $1.65 million in prizes awaits.
