Ecogy Energy develops, finances, constructs and operates Distributed Energy Resource (DER) assets. Ecogy was founded in 2010 with our first project for Longwood Gardens, the nation's largest botanical garden. Since then, we have specialized in financing distributed generation assets for entities such as affordable housing, non-profits and municipalities. Our current portfolio comprises systems across 12 states, D.C. and the Caribbean. Ecogy has cross functional teams doing marketing, sales, engineering and operational activities. We also have inhouse technology development (software and hardware) that allows us to tune and optimize our business processes. Our technology stack is by necessity a "distributed" stack to allow our asset managers to easily oversee the performance of all DER for the benefit of our customers and the Grid. Ecogy Energy are finalists in the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy 2019 ‘Plug and Play DER Challenge’ and more recently in the 2021 NKN – Gitcoin GR 11 Hackathon.
