This challenge is aimed at encouraging innovative thinkers to combine aspects of pharmaceutics with app development skills, in order to develop an app which can not only remind patients to take their medications, but also motivate them towards the same. Anyone can participate in this challenge regardless of nationality, age or level of education. Participants are encouraged to either seek some basic pharmaceutical knowledge, or partner with people conversant with that field. Winners will have their prize money sent to them through bank wire transfer.
The competition runs from 10th April to 10th September 2016. Applicants may submit their apps between 2 and 20 August 2016. Voting will be between 22 August and 5th September, followed by judging on 8 September and announcement of winners within 48 hours. All apps must be android apps, and must be original work by the applicant. Any person between the ages of 15 and 50 may apply. While one applicant is required, applicants may be allowed to consult or partner other people for purposes of the competition.
Applicants must first fill an application form on the page. Then they may submit their apps by sending them to the email: as GoogleDrive links. Alternatively, you may send links of your apps on any app store, to the same email address. Additionally, you are required to send a link of a video showing you talking about your app and its importance, to the aforementioned email address. Voting will be done on through e-mail, where people will be able to state the person and app they are voting for, by e-mailing to the following address: . Judging will be based on number of votes, but judges will also have their opinions on the apps. Judges’ decisions will be final. Prizes will be awarded to the top three apps as follows: 1) $1000 2) $800 3) $700. The winners will be contacted and their money sent to them through bank wire transfer.
