The Bureau of Reclamation has selected the following phase 1 winners to share in the $160,000 prize pool for phase 1 of the Veg Out Challenge and move on to phase 2. The phase 1 winners are:
- AquaInject, Where IoT Meets Vegetation Control, Trent Lewis
- Electric Macrophytes Management Solution, Shawn Kozak
- Packaged Herbicides for More Efficient Control, Jan Beetge
We would also like to recognize the following honorable mentions and commend them for their excellent innovative submissions:
- Directed Energy Aquatic Defoliation-DEAD, Jonathan Jackson
- Genilec Global Solution, Vincent Leroux
In the next phase of the Veg Out Challenge, the phase 1 winning teams will move on to phase 2 - the Prototype phase. In the Prototyping phase, winning solvers from the Concept phase will develop and small-scale test their solutions over a nine-month period.
