I Made a Challenge… Now What?

BY FRASER CAIN | 1 min read

Thanks to our ImagineX Challenge and the hard work from our Possibilities team, we’re getting lots of new challenge ideas coming through the site.

As we say around here:
- Anyone can create a challenge
- Anyone can help fund a challenge
- And anyone can compete in a challenge

And this is unleashing the creative powers of the challenge designers out there.

But once you create a challenge, what then? How do you get people to come, check out your challenge, pledge and eventually compete?

The answer, is marketing.

Success in business is about two things: create something amazing, and then tell everyone about it.

So, you’ve made an amazing challenge. Something that will solve a problem that’s ripe for innovation.

But is it the best challenge it could be? Did you make a compelling video that clearly explains the nature of the problem and the kinds of solutions you’re looking for? Have you got a description that encourages people to take action?

Great!

Now it’s time to tell everyone about it.

Post your challenge into your social networks, discussion forums and email it to your friends. Chances are many of these people already agree about the problem and will want to help you get it solved.

Encourage them to pledge money to the challenge. Get their insights into how you could make your challenge better.

And then extend your reach to the people who don’t know about you, but would be very interested. Find the forums, websites and social networks where people are already talking about these ideas and get their help.

It’s going to be difficult work at first, but since your challenge is probably amazing, you’ll pick up some some new friends who will be glad to help you spread the word.

The bottom line is that creating a fantastic challenge is just the beginning. The hard part will be reaching the audiences who will support your challenge.

They’re going to love your challenge, they just don’t know it exists, yet.

If you want more resources, I highly recommend you just search for “promote crowdfunding” on Google. You’ll get almost a million results, with lots of great ideas.

As HeroX.com becomes more popular, we’ll be able to drive more traffic to your challenges, but if our platform is going to be anything like Kickstarter or Indiegogo, the majority of the traffic to a specific challenge is going to come from the communities excited about the idea.

I’d be glad to help out however I can, just drop me an email at .

And if you haven’t already, go ahead and Create A Challenge. That’s the first step!
