“I particularly hate busy work, and love renewable energy.”
Bryan Villano - Co-Founder and CEO of ContractPower
Bryan Villano is an innovative leader and entrepreneur, co-founding ContractPower, where he is transforming the renewable energy sector through cutting-edge, AI-enabled contract management solutions. With an extensive background in asset management and renewable energy, Bryan has developed tools that enhance compliance, streamline contract reviews, and reduce time spent on legal documentation.
Since the inception of ContractPower, Bryan has spearheaded the development of its three core products:
1. Diligence Tool – a contract-centric AI assistant similar to ChatGPT that answers detailed questions within contracts.
2. Summary Module – a multi-document question-and-answer tool for complex contract tasks, including financial reviews.
3. ClauseSense – a compliance extraction agent that identifies rights, obligations, and restrictions in contracts, simplifying the contract management process.
4. PowerReg – Understanding how regulations impact your IPP is extremely important, but many don’t have the time to read a 1000 page tariff. PoweReg focuses on ISO content, updated daily for any modifications.
Before co-founding ContractPower, Bryan held key roles in the renewable energy sector. As an Asset Manager at Clearway Energy Group, he managed a portfolio of projects up to 994 MW, including large-scale solar and battery storage initiatives. His career in renewable energy also includes his time at EDF Renewables North America, where he influenced market regulations and improved project economics through his leadership in asset management.
Bryan's professional journey began with a strong focus on market analysis, investor relations, and policy advocacy, roles he honed in his earlier years at Lucas Group, CarbonDay, and Arava Power. His expertise across sales, development, and asset management provided him with the depth of knowledge to revolutionize contract navigation for renewable energy professionals.
Under his leadership, ContractPower has been recognized for its innovative approach, participating in prestigious programs like Techstars and Clean Tech Open. Bryan is dedicated to reducing the time professionals spend on contracts, with ContractPower cutting the typical 12 hours of weekly contract work down to just 3 hours.
Bryan's vision for ContractPower extends beyond renewable energy, as he plans to apply his AI-based contract solutions to other industries in the future.
