“Desire to make the world a better place.”
bio
For over 20 years I have attempted to push space technology forward in order to enable new economies in space. From 2000 to 2005, I pushed ion propulsion technology forward at NASA Glenn Research Center resulting in the flight qualification of the NEXT ion thruster now flying on NASA's DART mission to demonstrate planetary protection with asteroid redirection. From 2005 to 2015, I pushed propulsion and power technology forward at Aerojet Rocketdyne leading technology developments that saved major DoD satellite missions, supported NASA's return to the Moon, and demonstrated the first 3D printed liquid propulsion system. From 2015 to 2021, I pushed satellite technology forward at SpaceX creating the first electric propulsion system and SpaceX and leading sub-system production to product the Starlink constellation which is now ~1/3 of all operating satellites. Starting in 2021, I joined Bradford Space to push improvement in spacecraft technology for deep space including spacecraft design and manufacturing, low cost solar power systems, low cost green propulsion, and low cost flight computers.
