As a product manager, I have a passion for good design. Perhaps one of the most important design challenges facing the solar industry today is how best to innovate simultaneously in the areas of reliability and sustainability. Without careful design considerations, one can come at the sacrifice of the other. And that is where I see innovation playing a key role: how best to create PV modules that are both reliable and sustainable so that our efforts to grow the solar industry to TW scale as quickly as possible do not conflict with our goals to reduce the carbon footprint of the industry as effectively as possible.
