A husband, father, grandfather, scholar, inventor, and poet, David is an accomplished hardware, mechanical, software engineer, embedded systems designer, and electronics manufacturing expert. From 3M to British Aerospace, David’s designs have ranged from high speed (4,000 pages per minute) laser printers to deep brain drug delivery robots to rugged computers that live in every vehicle in our armed forces. David thrives on solving difficult problems using his eclectic background of Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Computer Science. An avid Inventor, David holds 25 patents including on IoT security and MRI based robotic drug delivery, as well as over two dozen patents pending on behalf of Capital One.
David loves to teach, leading hardware classes for audiences ranging from the Girl Scouts to Software Engineering Summits to sharing career strategies at SXSW. Additionally, David shares his hardware knowledge by contributing to the peer-reviewed Open Research movement with his work on formalizing rugged, deterministic embedded system design that is both robust and reliable. David lives in Palm Bay, Florida with his wife Claire.
