Fernando Meza, having past experience as an attorney, mediator, and group facilitator, was initially hired to assist Pomona Unified School District in addressing communication concerns between parents, students and District employees and to create opportunities for partnerships between families and the schools. Since 2007, Mr. Meza has helped Pomona Unified build those relationships and has also help broker partnerships with local government agencies, universities and not-for-profit organizations to provide improved services and opportunities to our students, families and communities. He has worked for the District in various capacities, from Coordinator to Assistant Superintendent, and has been responsible for implementing successful programs and administrating multimillion dollar contracts. During his tenure over the Pupil and Community Services Division of the District, he oversaw the expansion of parent engagement and involvement along with the increase in mental health services for the students and families of the District. Alternative Education, Career Technical Education, Adult Education programs flourished and provided more opportunities for students to learn. His subsequent responsibilities over Facilities, Transportation and Maintenance & Operations Division, allowed him to manage multimillion dollar construction projects and improved maintenance services to over 41 sites across the District. He has worked closely with our project and program management consultants, architectural and engineering firms, DSA, OPSC, EPA, CEQA, and other federal, State and local agencies, and dove into overseeing ongoing bond projects in various phases, from programming through close out
