Frontline Waste - Rob Steir
Managing Director/Founder at MindForce Consulting
New York City, New York, United States
bio
Rob Steir is Founder and Managing Director of Frontline Waste, manufacturer and distributor of a small-scale, self-fueling and mobile combustor. This proprietary combustor anchors a “SMRF” (for Starter Material Recovery Facility), a small-scale decentralized, standalone waste system. The SMRF enables small cities (under 200,000) and coastal areas with inadequate (or no) waste management systems to “cleanly” collect, recycle and dispose of waste to create “waste-free” areas. Its goal is to make open burning and unsanitary garbage dumps obsolete. The company was recently selected by Startup Energy Transition, in collaboration with the German Energy Agency, for inclusion in its GET100 list of most innovative energy startups. Mr. Steir sees considerable value in rethinking waste as a valuable asset and resource for local government and business leaders within a small city. Frontline’s premise is simple: Proactive Smart Cities, with strong leadership, that invest in being long-term “Waste-Free” will attract, like a magnet, people, new companies and jobs, which will lead to sustainable growth. Prior to founding Frontline Waste, Rob worked for 25 years as a serial entrepreneur, involved with new venture consulting and strategic business development activities for early stage companies, and recruiting services. He has a Kellogg MBA and an undergraduate degree from Georgetown University. Rob is a resident of New York City.
