Marquis Matilla is the founder of Evolved Living LLC, an EEC-approved vendor in the IPA Adjustable Block Program, and a seasoned Solar Specialist with over 20 years of experience in the solar industry. His journey began in 1999 as an apprentice electrician with IBEW Local #134. By 2001, Marquis expanded his expertise by training in photovoltaics through the Midwest Renewable Energy Association and Solar Energy International. In 2017, Marquis joined StraightUp Solar as a Lead Solar Electrician, where he led the installation of 52 photovoltaic systems—including commercial, residential, ground-mounted, and rooftop projects—across Illinois and Missouri. At LiveWire Construction, Marquis spearheaded the establishment of the company’s Solar Division. Between 2019 and 2024, he played a pivotal role in making LiveWire one of Illinois’ leading self-performing minority solar electrical contractors, with a focus on community solar projects. In 2024, Marquis founded GoSolar Development Partners to foster opportunities for the next generation in the solar sector, continuing his mission to advance renewable energy and sustainable development.
