The George Washington Transportation Program (GWTP) is lead by Prof. Samer Hani Hamdar who is an associate professor at the George Washington University (GWU) (https://transportation.seas.gwu.edu). The corresponding team members work on different projects mainly funded by the Federal Highway Administration and the National Science Foundation. The primary research interests of GWTP include driver and pedestrian behavior modeling, traveler behavior modeling, traffic flow theory, transportation safety, intelligent transportation systems, connected and automated vehicles, social networks, evacuation modeling and disaster management. The team members are affiliated with the Transportation Research Board (TRB) Traffic Flow Theory and Characteristics Committee (AHB45) (where Prof. Hamdar is the chair of the Traffic Flow Modeling for Connected and Automated Vehicles Subcommittee - AHB45-3) and the Committee on Emergency Evacuations (ABR30).
