Dr. Heidi von Harscher is the founding Director of Medical Student Support Services at the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine at Florida International University in South Florida. A licensed clinical neuropsychologist by training she assists students to develop and grow in, and outside, the medical curriculum. She is also the student Ombudsman, an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health and serves as the Assistant Dean of Women in Medicine and Science. Dr. von Harscher is passionate about spiritual wellness and mindfulness as is evidenced by her research and academic focus on burnout, empathy and resilience. She is the founding faculty advisor for AMWA (American Medical Women's Association).
