Kenneth Holbrook Founder of Native Energy Resources, LLC and President of Native Forest Resources, Inc. Formerly appointed in 2020 by Governor Gavin Newsom, as California Public Utilities Commission’s (CPUC) first Tribal Advisor. Kenneth served the CPUC for four years through his advisory role across the agency and as the CPUC’s main point of contact with the Native American Tribes of California. Holbrook is a citizen of the Atsugewi Band of the Pit River Tribe and is also a descendent of the Maidu Tribe of northern California. Has extensive experience in tribal affairs, tribal community planning initiatives, working with and facilitating California’s Tribes in their shared goals of reacquiring land, ensuring access to safe, clean, and affordable utility services and infrastructure, and driving tribal led economic development initiatives. Has successfully collaborated with many tribal, local, state, and federal government partners, along with numerous energy professionals working in industry and for American Indian Tribes and Alaska Villages. Professional goals include: Advancing Tribal energy sovereignty through knowledge sharing, systems innovation, human and capital investment, and direct technical support; Developing long-range community-based solutions for energy reliability integrated with water resource management; and, Generating sustainable Tribal and rural economic growth through practice and teaching of regenerative agriculture and sustainable commerce in Indian Country and in neighboring locales.
