Dr. Shull has accumulated over 45 years of executive-level business and management experience and over 14 years of experience as a tenured professor at both Michigan State University (MSU) and the University of California-Davis (UCD). He is a nationally recognized professional toxicologist, health risk assessor, and environmental scientist. His business experience as a consultant both in his own company as well as three large environmental consulting companies includes: strategic planning and project management of numerous and varied environmental and public health projects (air, water, soil and food pollution) globally, assisting responsible parties with environmental regulatory compliance, expert peer reviewer for regulatory agencies and scientific publications, leading corporate business development activities, 20 years as a corporate Practice Leader, founder/co-founder of three startup environmental companies, and expert witness on over 50 environmental and/or toxic tort cases. His academic experience includes: over 20 years managing and performing laboratory research, training MS and PhD students, designing biohazard research laboratories, recipient of an NIH New Investigator Research Award, over 30 years of teaching environmental courses, author of numerous peer-reviewed research papers and reports, a toxicology textbook, and popular press and consulting reports. Dr. Shull has a Ph.D. in Animal Nutrition and Toxicology and an M.S. in Animal Nutrition and Physiology from Oregon State University, and a B.S. in Biology from Southern Oregon University.
