Ms. Van Horn, MBA is the founder and CEO of iShare Medical, a shared interoperable electronic medical record system that provides interoperability solutions to healthcare. Ms. Van Horn pioneered the concept and created software tools for a cradle to grave lifetime health record stored based on the patient. iShare Medical’s HIPAA Compliant nationwide network spans over 58,000 healthcare organizations and 1.2 million Direct Addresses for health information exchange.
Ms. Van Horn is considered an authority in health information exchange, interoperability, and a thought leader in innovating the future of healthcare. She collaborates with DirectTrust and other governing organizations establishing the standards for securely exchanging private medical information. iShare Medical is a EHNAC Accredited DirectTrust Health Information Services Provider (HISP), DirectTrust Trust Anchor, and NATE (National Association for Trusted Exchange) Trust Anchor. iShare Medical is also cross-certified by the Federal Bridge Certificate Authority (FBCA) required by Federal Health Architecture for exchange with 23 government agencies including Medicare, Medicare, DOD, VA, Indian Health Services and Center for Disease Control.
Ms. Van Horn’s experience includes Founder, President and CEO of 21st Century Edge, a healthcare management consulting firm, Co-Founder and COO of The Pain Institute, an anesthesia-based interventional pain practice with 22 locations in two states, Senior Manager at Deloitte, and Manager of Quality Assurance at Control Data Corporation.
Ms. Van Horn is the creator of three online software packages - The Billing Edge, The Diagnosis Edge, and The Training Edge - practice management tools for administrators, office managers, billers, coders, and providers. She is the author of two textbooks on practice management, contributing author to a chapter in a practice management textbook, and editor of a quarterly newsletter on practice management. Ms. Van Horn also lectures to groups both locally and nationally. She is an active member of the Medical Group Management Association and served as President of the Kentucky Medical Group Management Association in 1995. Ms. Van Horn also served as the Chairman of the American Red Cross Great Gatsby Gala in 2003.
Ms. Van Horn has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a Masters of Business Administration from Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri.
