Lisa Daniels specializes in market development, advocacy and outreach for community and distributed renewable energy. She has been providing renewable energy information and technical assistance to farmers, ranchers, tribal communities, elected officials, rural utilities and general interest groups since 1997. Currently, Lisa is the Program Director for Native Sun Community Power Development, a Native-led nonprofit promoting renewable energy, energy efficiency and an equitable energy transition through education, workforce training and demonstration.
In addition, Lisa is the Executive Director and founder of Windustry, a nonprofit with a national scope that promotes community-based, distributed renewable energy. With the founding Board of Directors, Lisa established Windustry as an independent 501(c)(3) in January 2003. She has led Windustry successfully in competitive contracts with US Department of Energy and US Department of Agriculture. Windustry has been recognized for its creative and innovative approaches in market development and engagement. Lisa was a founder and charter board member of Women of Wind Energy, now called Women of Renewable Industries and Sustainable Energy (WRISE) with chapters in 33 states.
