Dr. Marc Compere is an Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach Florida. He earned the B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical Engineering in 1994, 1996, and 2001. His background is physical systems modeling, instrumentation, dynamics, and multi-vehicle scenarios. He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in sustainable design, electric power systems, instrumentation, and vehicle dynamics. He has published 50 refereed conference and journal articles, trained 36 Masters students, 4 Ph.D. students, and launched 3 small businesses. Dr. Compere has installed more than 12 solar power systems in Haiti, Dominican Republic, and the US.
