Melanie Lantin
Universal City, California, United States
“I enjoy problem solving. I strive to ask the right questions in order to find the right answers.”
bio
Melanie Lantin is the Senior Director of User Experience & Design for NBC Entertainment Digital. It's a complicated title with a simple mission: she makes sure the interactions between our users and our digital products are usable and delightful by design. If you ask her, she keeps it simple. She manages a team of UX designers and together they work from a data-driven usability framework to design Emmy award-winning, highly functional and innovative multi-platform digital products. Prior to joining NBC Universal, Melanie led UX design for several divisions at Disney. She also served as the Disney ABC Television Group (DATG) Design Council Leader, fostering innovation and creative collaboration across all design teams under the DATG portfolio. Her specialty is the intersection and influence of Psychology and UX Design, and is a firm believer that cognitive science principles are at the core/foundation of how we design. She asks a lot of questions. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California at Irvine. In her past life, she was a dancer. In this life, she jumped out of a plane at 14000ft. Both were fun. She's a fan of dark documentaries and never misses an episode of Dateline. She lives in Burbank with her husband, Hernani, and their two boys, Riley and Reagan.
