Mohammad Hossein Jarrahi is an Associate Professor of Information Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His research centers on the impact of emerging digital technologies on the future of work and organizations. He has investigated flexible organizational contexts like the gig economy, focusing on the complex roles of digital labor platforms in shaping work practices within these areas. Since 2017, his studies have explored how the integration of AI is transforming knowledge work. He introduced the concept of 'human-AI symbiosis,' which describes the collaborative interaction between humans and AI systems in organizational decision-making. Additionally, his work has contributed to the concept of algorithmic management, examining how algorithms can either automate or enhance managerial tasks.
