Combining my experience with strong entrepreneurial skills and ability to build innovative social enterprises, I have always aimed to affect positive change within my community and industry through business. I am a highly creative and innovative business developer and strategist, having started seven successful social enterprises over two decades. Leveraging my skills to identify opportunities I have the ability to turn ideas into highly innovative impact generating, socially focused businesses and have successfully managed this process from ideation to established entity. I was in the creative sector for ten years and made a significant contribution to building the social economy in South Africa through co-creating thousands of jobs for young creative talent. I also spent 10 years in the health sector providing over half a million people innovative access to psycho social support to deal with the devastating HIV and AIDS crisis in Botswana. Currently I am based in Montreal and am the co-founder of Lean4Flourishing, a new and innovative organization disrupting the way we design businesses. Our approach focuses on business model innovation and we are involved in curriculum design and support for entrepreneurial development, the design of labs and incubators to enhance innovation. I mentor, coach and judge at a number of start-up competitions, accelerator and incubator programs I am also the author of the soon to be released e-book Lean for Social Enterprise and am a strategic advisor to Ashoka Canada. I am fully invested in building a better world for future generations and have through my work been fortunate to have contributed to some extraordinary organizations and projects. My vision is to continue to do so through the process of co-creation. I see the XPRIZE project as a fantastic fit for the work I am doing and am excited to more deeply understand the process of prize design to foster innovation and solve some of the critical challenges facing our world and our people.
