Padma Kasthurirangan is the COO for Siva Powers America in the US. She is responsible for the plant in Lockport, NY and heads all R&D efforts associated with speedy deployment in the US. She is also the President of Buffalo Renewables, a DW and solar PV development, installation and O&M service company in New York. Padma is responsible for project design, engineering, local permitting, interconnection permitting, and project management for installation projects ranging from 250 kW to 5 MW. Padma holds a Master of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering (Energy Systems) from University at Buffalo (SUNY) and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from Anna University, India. S started her renewable energy career with Niagara Wind & Solar in 2011 and launched Buffalo Renewables in 2016 to support the expanding renewable energy business in western NY. She specializes in all aspects of a renewable energy project including design, sales, installation, maintenance and policy making. A recognized National expert in Distributed Generation (DG) permitting, installation and interconnection, Padma is frequently invited to work with the National Labs and U.S Department of Energy’s Wind Energy Technology Office (WETO) as a peer reviewer and stakeholder. She serves on the board of directors of the Distributed Wind Energy Association (DWEA) as treasurer.
