His mission is to up a few notches in his crazy resolve to coinvent new products and services. He’s co-founded numerous start-ups in low and high tech and made 6 exits, consistently finding balance in his ability to develop, then execute with super fast pace. His ultimate daily goal is to find the achievable balance for the users to love their experience, founders gets their market validation and investors receive their fulfillment and returns. Paul has developed and funded both low and high tech startups in prepaid wireless, mobile, payments, wearable technology, IOT, social platforms, hyper-lo geolocation, commerce-aware ad networks and artificial intelligence platforms. Starting off on the right foot during his time in Entrepreneurship Studies at University of Southern California, Paul helped turned the oldest fresh juice company in America, Hansen’s juices, into the nation’s largest energy drink company, which became the publically traded Monster Energy brand (MNST). Paul’s game-changing innovation in wireless and mobile technology began with his founding of Urban Wireless in 1996. As the first to market in the U.S a prepaid cellular service with color handsets, including utilizing web-based technologies for replenishments, Paul was awarded “The Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award” in 1999. Paul went on to become the director of VHA Corp and the Co- Founder/Director of Mobile123 / VIAONE Technologies, where he produced over $700 Million in airtime replenishments through its payment network. Since 2003, Paul has been a Managing Director of a private real estate and restaurant investment group Rocket Holdings; acquiring exclusive development rights in New York City for Johnny Rockets, the popular themed restaurant and entertainment venue. Paul ran an angel fund, Paul Chu Ventures, LLC., through which he takes active advisory roles for early and growth stage companies to further their mission, product fit & differentiation, traction and new rounds of funding. His current portfolio of companies includes: iSwimband, Revcascade, Vouch Financial, Wireless Monk, Volante Mobile, Red Clay, Emozia, Connect, UXPin, Orion, Voluptatem, Wanderu and Floteyourtablet. As an active guest speaker for NYU, Columbia University and Fordham University for their Entrepreneurship Studies Programs, Paul enjoys being able to give back by inspiring future generations of entrepreneurial success stories. Paul’s active with MIT Enterprise Member and XPRIZE, Think Tank. He’s a softie too, pushing for strong policies to protect animals from cruelty and abuse by campaigning for ASPCA’s “No Kill” policy and helping to lead fundraising initiatives.
