Paul Duan is the Founder and President of Bayes Impact, a Y Combinator-backed non-profit organization that builds algorithms to make the world a better place. His work at the intersection of technology and policy has led him to work with governments and NGOs around the world to leverage data science for the common good in areas spanning health, criminal justice, and international development.
Most recently Paul was a data scientist at Eventbrite where he build fraud detection and spam filtering algorithms and was featured in the Wall Street Journal and The Economist for his previous work. Originally from France, Paul graduated from Sciences Po Paris, UC Berkeley, and the Sorbonne where he studied in mathematics, economics, and political science.
