“That the impossible exists until someone proves that it is possible”
Priscilla is a biologist, master and doctor in Cellular and Developmental Biology, with specialization in regenerative medicine, human aging and biosafety. Currently, she is a volunteer researcher at the company Polar Sapiens and a postdoctoral student in the Postgraduate Program in Biotechnology and Biosciences at the Federal University of Santa Catarina. His doctoral thesis was nominated for the CAPES 2023 Award, and one of his researches received the award for third best poster in the post-doc category at the XXI Brazilian Congress of Cell Biology in 2024.
Priscilla is dedicated to understanding human aging and its health implications, focusing on biomarkers of cellular senescence, diseases associated with aging, and the interaction between adipose tissue and hormonal and cognitive decline. In his career, he has developed experiments with mesenchymal stem cells to improve the reproducibility and replicability of results, in addition to working in partnership with renowned national and international laboratories. She is also involved in biosafety studies, including building a simulated biosafety laboratory and improving cell cultivation practices and infrastructure. Within his work in biosafety, his greatest interest is in polar biosafety, extreme environments such as Antarctica that are analogous to extraterrestrials, such as the moon.
