Minge Xie is a Distinguished Professor and Director of Office of Statistical Consulting, Department of Statistics, Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. He is a mathematical statistician by training and has made several important and fundamental contributions in the field of statistical inference and data science. His other expertise includes fusion learning, robust statistics, hierarchical models, and data science applications in biostatistics and industry. Dr. Xie received his BS degree in mathematics from University of Science and Technology (USTC) with the highest honor and PhD degree in statistics from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). He is a fellow of the American Statistical Association (ASA), a fellow of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics (IMS) and an elected member of the International Statistical Institute (ISI). He has served on numerous editorial boards and scientific review panels. His is a co-founder of the BFF research community (http://bff-stat.org/). His research has been supported in part by grants from NSF, NIH, DHS, NSA and FAA.
