“Generating and converting energy while minimizing our impacts on the natural environment.”
Randy Ellingson is a Professor of Physics, working with students and researchers to create better photovoltaic technologies. Our core research aims at developing better thin film and tandem solar cells, with sunlight to electric conversion efficiencies of 30% or more. Randy's interests include educating the public about the benefits of solar energy, supporting solar for the low income community, solar array monitoring and forecasting, and integration of PV into a smart grid.
