Mr. Piniella has over 30 years of trading, investment and consultative experience across a spectrum of commodity markets. He is the founder and CEO of E*Comdty Research Group, a boutique consulting firm providing research, analytics and advisory on navigating the energy transition of world commodity markets. At Eurasia Group, Mr. Piniella was Global Managing Director of their Energy and Natural Resource practice, advising the C-Suites of Fortune 500 companies on the market implications of the company's risk assessments. At Bunge, he was the Senior Commodity Trader & Energy Analyst, trading global oil & gas markets while developing the company’s global research platform for the allocation of energy risk. A founding partner of Ridgefield Capital Asset Management ($1.2B AUM), Mr. Piniella traded energy, livestock and agricultural markets, as well as developed the fund's risk analytics and research platform for energy, ags and livestock. Prior to that he spent 15 years at Louis Dreyfus Corporation and was instrumental in the development of the firm’s ground-breaking energy business. He was a member of their Proprietary Trading Group, serving as both Senior Analyst and Trader. Mr. Piniella worked for the company’s partnership with Duke Energy as Senior Midwest Merchant, trading forward basis markets and physical energy commodities. During this time Mr. Piniella also developed various hedging and marketing programs for both Louis Dreyfus Natural Gas Corp and Louis Dreyfus Electric Power, respectively. Mr. Piniella rejoined LDC from 2020 to 2022, to help relaunch and co-head their new Energy Trading business.
