“The pursuit of a clean energy future that is beautiful in its elegance and conscience”
Over 20 years of experience in advanced energy systems, including modeling, analysis, innovation, and technical leadership in: concentrating solar power solutions, energy storage, gas turbine engine design for systems ranging from 10 W to 250 MW, combined heat and power solutions, biomass energy systems, advanced high-performance heat exchanger design, low-emissions combustion, and hybrid vehicle development.
A focus on concentrating solar projects for over 10 years, most recently having been Principal Investigator for several high-profile multi-year United States Department of Energy projects. Responsible for providing technical leadership to teams of up to 10 world-class organizations, while managing budgets of up to $10M. Major engineering efforts have included stochastic solar modeling code development, finite difference numerical modeling, performance simulations, integrated operation simulations, thermo-hydraulic analysis, component and subsection testing, detailed life analyses, and innovative system design.
Holds a Master of Science degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and a Bachelor of Science degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), has received multiple patents, has authored multiple journal articles, is on the advisory board of the European Micro Gas Turbine Forum (EMGTF), and was an invited speaker at the 2019 Center for Future Energy Systems Technology Conference.
