Mr. Sidney Higa, Has been working with Technology for over 40 years and brings more than 20 years of Teleconferencing Experience and more than 30 years of Telecommunications Experience to the Hawaii CCSU Consortium. He currently works with the Energy Industry and Security & Access Control Industries to identify and deploy new Technologies. He has held positions such as the VP for Infrastructure and Technology for World Class Conferencing (WCC) and was Technical Manager of Genesys Conferencing Inc. (GCI) Hawaii Division. He built out the technology infrastructure WCC used including internal operations, IT infrastructure, the call center, and the provider network. While at Genesys he revamped the technology that Genesys used in Hawaii to integrate with the company’s global network. Prior to WCC and GCI he was the Chief Telecom Officer for the Commander Pacific Command (PACOM) before retiring in 1999. His division at PACOM managed the inter-base PACOM HITS program, PACOM Cellular & Pager program, PACOM Red Switch program, PACOM Video Teleconference Network, PACOM Emergency Action System, PACOM Secure Telephones, as well as Vendors associated with maintenance of all key Telecom Systems. He Engineered and Deployed the first Pacific Wide Imagery Dissemination System that digitally mocked up Satellite images with targets and delivered them to forward bases in hours versus months or years. He is the only person in Hawaii who is trained on specific high performance conference bridging technology from multiple vendors. He also has extensive experience in LAN, WAN, and IT designs and management. He holds degrees in Digital Electronics from the Community College of the Air Force, BS Business Administration & BS Computer Science from Hawaii Pacific University. He is currently working to bring Technology to Hawaii Farming.
