Usman is the 2018 Commonwealth Young Person of the Year. He's a global systems thinker, driven to create out-of-the-sphere solutions to Global Warming and the Global Refugee crisis. He is the Co-Founder and CEO of a startup incubator in Australia called Catalysr which helps migrants and refugees to start their own startups in Australia, who have supported 66 migrapreneurs to start 15 new businesses in their first 2 years. He's also the Director of Special Projects at EnergyLab Australia, which is a CleanTech startup accelerator moving Australia and the world toward 100% clean energy solutions by offering various entrepreneurship programs in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra, Cambodia and India.
He is also the Australian lead at G20 Young Entrepreneurs' Alliance (YEA) designing a G20-wide Youth Entrepreneurship Visa, and is working to develop a new SpaceTech startup to tackle climate change through Singularity University, NASA.
