I'm a new teacher at an urban charter highschool in philadelphia, PA. I worked with Douglass Hollet from the DOE and Dr. Jeremy Firestone at the University of Delaware in 2015 on my master's Analytical Paper "Industrial Upcycling: The feasibility and costs of retrofitting Oil Platforms in the Gulf of Mexico with Geothermal Systems for Electricity Production. I was a Marine Biologist for 6 years working at various capacities with NJ Fish and Wildlife, Florida Fish and Wildlife, the Audubon Society, Florida Atlantic University, and Normandeau Associates Environmental Consultants. It has been my observation that if one digs deep enough in any field of environmental science, one hits a bedrock of social inequity underpinning environmental exploitation in some form or another. With that in mind, my Second Period 9th grade Environmental Science classroom is ready to join the call put forth in this proposal
