What Problem Does your Business Solve?
Based on this question; we all know that chicken is a source of white meat which is healthy than other animal meat. Chicken meat is highly on demand because cholesterol level in chicken meat is lower than in turkey, beef and pork. Hence our business hopes to help those on special diets such as: Heart disease patients, the aged, those requiring low sodium diets and those on weight reduction diets. The few firms in Ngong involved in chicken rearing are scarcely able to adequately address the existing market demand. We therefore intend to counter the present scarcity by supplying chicken meat at affordable prices to our customers.

Hence our main source of revenue will be through; Selling chicken meat, Selling droppings as manure to farmers around Ngong, Selling the reject parts such as intestines, heads and chicken feet to those people keeping dogs for commercial purposes.
Our target market will comprise of people on special diet, general public, institutions, supermarkets, butcheries and eating places. We intend to cover the entire Ngong area and its neighboring towns such as; Matathia, Kiserian and Karen.

Describe any Known Competitors.
Around Ngong we have very few competitors most of them being the big farms. This is because most people around here keep chicken for direct consumption excluding the majority of the population who don’t keep chicken but they need it.
• One of the most established firm around Ngong and our biggest competitor is known as Muguku Poultry Farm. It has been existing since the year 1932 to date. There major income is through breeding and supply of chicken products such as meat and eggs.
• However they don’t meet the demand of chicken in the area due to a rapid growth in population, hence to us this is an opportunity venture in a ready market that is starving and waiting to be fed
How Can Your Business be Developed or Expanded.
Product expansion: plough back the profits to increase previous stock by at least 50%.
Revenue: formulate cost saving and revenue maximizing strategies in order to push up revenue earned by at least 20% with each cleared stock.
Market segments: increase all market segments – special needs, general public, eating places and institutions by at least 10% with each three successive stockings.
Going deeper the marketing zones: have a deeper penetration to the regions’ market niches by establishing a quality brand of our products.
Describe Yourself and Your Goals.
We are basically a team of young people who are self-motivated and full of ambitions, dreams and goals to achieve. Having been born and raised in poverty has helped us acquire strong drive, virtues and values based on self-acceptance, self-awareness and more so the respect of where we come from.
We strongly believe that the hardships and challenges we have endured make us strong and able to conquer the impossible. Our poor backgrounds should not chain us to failure but provide the motivation required for success and achievement. As a team what matters to us most is to see each member of the team succeed in life through self-empowerment and to be able to operate a broiler project that will even provide more employment to other youths.
Our objective is not only to hire a few youths, but also train as many as possible. This is in line with the realization of Kenya’s vision 2030 objective that seeks to have a significant proportion of the youth competent with livelihood skills. Apart from the national goal, we intend to impact the youth with human formation, life skills and basic enterpreneurship skills which are rarely thought in schools. With this strategy, we are sure of stability, voice, warmth and dignity in the community.
We as Staff Investment Group (SIG) were brought together through the activities of Kito International. Through Kito we have been assisted to gain numerous skills for basic competitiveness and life skills. We see Kito as an important companion in our journey to achieve financial freedom and break away from the chains of poverty. Hence establishing this business partnership is much precious to us than having free fine pieces of gold.
